Holy Cross freshman
Patrick Walsh broke a 20-year program record in the 500-yard freestyle during the second day of the 2022 Patriot League Championships at Lejeune Hall on the campus of the United States Naval Academy.
Walsh produced a 4:31.16 time in the event bettering the previous program record of 4:38.11 set by
Mike Emmons in 2002 at the PL Championship. Sophomore
Charlie Nascimben established a new top mark of 1:52.81 in the 200-yard individual medley passing Nathan Kramer's 1:53.03 set in 2019.
The 400 medley relay athletes also put their names in the record books. Walsh,

Michael Brennan, and senior
Ben Vesey hit the wall in 3:25.11 bettering the prior mark of 3:27.62 produced in 2017.
As a team, Holy Cross is in ninth place with 65 points trailing Lehigh by six for eighth. Host Navy (312) leads the pack while Army West Point (273) and Bucknell (206) rank second and third respectively.
The Crusaders will be back in action tomorrow for the third day of the championships.
