WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team fell to Army 2-1 on Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Hart Center Rink.
Sophomore center
Matt Guerra scored the lone goal of the evening for the Crusaders (10-20-2, 8-13-2 AHA). Holy Cross junior goaltender
Matt Radomsky made 21 saves on the day.
Colin Bilek scored one goal and one assist for the Black Knights(13-14-3, 11-10-2 AHA). Goaltender Gavin Abric made 39 saves in the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Guerra earned an early lead for the Crusaders with a power-play goal at 6:59 of the first period from junior defenseman Nick Hale.
- At 17:07 of the second period, Brett Abdelnour tied the score on a power-play opportunity with assists from Joey Baez and Bilek.
- With 9:43 remaining in the third period, Bilek scored the game-winning goal with assists from John Keranen and Ricky Lyle.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The Crusaders outshot the Black Knights 40-23 during the matchup.
- In the second and third periods, Holy Cross recorded ten more shots on goal than Army.
- After winning the Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, Hale earned another assist, making his season assist total 17.
UP NEXT:
- Both teams will return to the Hart Center Rink tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 18 for a rematch.
- Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
