SYRACUSE, N.Y.— The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell, 28-5, to No. 12 Syracuse on Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Carrier Dome.
Junior attack
Dean DiNanno tallied one goal and one assist on the day for the Crusaders (0-2).
Attacks Owen Seebold and Tucker Dordevic both had five goals and one assist to lead Syracuse (1-0). Midfielder Brendan Curry also contributed four goals and two assists for the Orange.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Orange took an early lead with a goal from Pete Fiorini at 12:28 of the first.
- Syracuse went on to hold Holy Cross scoreless while tallying nine goals in the first quarter.
- DiNanno scored the first goal of the game for the Crusaders at the beginning of the second and Jayce Lambert tacked on another goal for Holy Cross with an assist from DiNanno. The Orange scored seven unanswered goals in the quarter before junior midfielder Cameron Magalotti capitalized on a man-up opportunity to bring the score to 19-3.
- Junior midfielder T.J. Lynch scored the fourth goal for the Crusaders and the first goal of the final quarter, bringing the score to 25-4.
- Sophomore attack Matt Major scored the fifth and final goal of the day for Holy Cross with an assist from freshman midfielder Matt Carbonell.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Five separate Crusaders tallied goals against the Orange.
- Both senior goaltender A.J. Fox and sophomore goaltender Dawson Friers saw action in the game.

- Holy Cross will travel to face Michigan at 1 p.m on Feb. 19 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
