Junior left tackle Luke Newman has been named to the 2022 Associated Press FCS All-America third team.
Newman — who has earned All-Patriot League first team honors in back-to-back seasons — was a HERO Sports Sophomore All-American in 2021.
He started every game of the 2022 season at left tackle for the Crusaders, who earned the most wins in program history (12) and made a trip to the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time since 1983. Newman was a key part of one of the best offensive lines in the nation; during 13 games in 2022, Holy Cross averaged 37.38 points per contest and 449.4 yards of total offense a game. In Patriot League play, the Crusaders averaged 43.0 points per game.
The Crusaders ranked in the top 10 nationally in scoring offense and rushing offense (245.1 rushing yards per game) during the 2022 campaign.
