Men’s soccer plays host to Dartmouth for Pink Game

The Holy Cross men's soccer team will return home this week to face Dartmouth on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 6:00 p.m. This will be the Crusaders' annual Pink Game as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Things to Know About the Crusaders (4-6-1, 0-3-1 Patriot League):
• Holy Cross has an overall record of 4-6-1 on the season, with an 0-3-1 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders are coming off a 2-2 tie at Lehigh on Saturday. 
• Senior midfielder Jack Ostrosky is currently tied for the team lead with four goals scored so far this season. During Saturday's contest at Lehigh, he scored with less than five minutes remaining to tie up the game at 2-2. Ostrosky previously netted a goal against Hartford, while scoring twice in the victory over Iona. Over the course of his collegiate career, he now has eight goals and five assists for 21 points in 45 games played.
• Sophomore forward Evan Jones is once again among the top offensive threats for Holy Cross this fall, and leads the team in scoring with nine points on four goals and one assist. During the Army game, he netted the Crusaders' first goal of the day. Jones previously scored three goals in the win at UMass Lowell, becoming the first Holy Cross player to record a hat trick since 2013. In 30 career games played, he has now totaled 12 goals and seven assists for 31 points.
• Senior midfielder Matt McGonigle scored his first goal of the season during the victory over UMass Lowell, then netted the game-winning goal against Hartford. On the year, he ranks fourth on the team in scoring with two goals and three assists for seven points. McGonigle has now totaled 21 points on six goals and nine assists in 41 career games played.
• Sophomore midfielder Jon Klein is tied for second on the team in scoring with eight points on two goals and four assists. He tallied a goal and an assist in the win over Hartford, after recording a goal and two assists in the victory at UMass Lowell. In 28 career games played, Klein now has five goals and six assists for 16 points.
• McGonigle, Ostrosky and senior defender Taj Salawu are serving as the Crusaders' captains this season.

Scouting the Big Green (2-3-2, 0-1-0 Ivy League):
• Dartmouth owns an overall mark of 2-3-2 on the year, with an 0-1-0 record in the Ivy League. The Big Green is coming off a 1-0 loss to Princeton on Saturday.
• Senior forward David Alino currently leads the team in scoring with five goals for 10 points.
• Sophomore Costi Christodoulou has started all seven games in goal for Dartmouth this year, posting an 0.97 goals against average with 27 saves.

Series History:
• The Big Green holds a 6-0-3 advantage in the all-time series with the Crusaders.
• The schools last played on Sept. 16, 2017, when Dartmouth won 5-0 in Worcester.
