LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Holy Cross men's soccer team was defeated by Bucknell 4-1 at Emmitt Field. The Crusaders fall to 4-9-4 overall and 0-5-3 in the Patriot League, while the Bison improve to 3-12-1 on the year and 2-5-1 in the conference.
Bucknell opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Charlie Holmes scored off a pass from Eddie Perez-Pelaez. Holy Cross responded less than two minutes later when senior midfielder
Jack Ostrosky sent a ball through the box that deflected off a Bucknell defender and was ruled an own goal. The Bison came back with a goal by Zane Domsohn in the 30th minute to claim a 2-1 halftime lead. The score remained the same until late in the game, when Perez-Pelaez and Domsohn added in goals in the final 10 minutes to conclude the scoring.
Bucknell finished the game with a 13-8 advantage in shots, while the Crusaders held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 2, when it plays host to Boston University at 6:00 p.m.
