CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's soccer team was defeated by Harvard 5-0 at Jordan Field. The Crusaders fall to 4-8-3 on the season, while the Crimson improve to 6-4-3 overall.
The game was scoreless until late in the first half, when Ale Gutierrez knocked in a pass from Galen Lewis in the 44th minute to put Harvard up 1-0 at the break. The Crimson then increased their lead to 2-0 in the 64th minute on a goal by Nico Garcia-Morillo. Sam Bjarnason and Matus Vician would also add goals, before Gutierrez found the net a second time to conclude the scoring.
Harvard finished the game with a 23-9 advantage in shots and an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 22, when it plays host to Navy at 1:00 p.m.
