Men’s indoor track suffers setback to New Hampshire at dual meet

DURHAM, N.H. – The Holy Cross men's track and field team participated in an indoor dual meet with New Hampshire on Saturday and lost the head-to-head by a 96-65 margin.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Sophomore Matthew Conway was the top finisher in the 400-meter finals at 55.11.
  • Junior Jack Welch took home first in the 800-meter finals with a time of 2:02.78
  • Senior Corey Kumamoto cross the finish line first in the 1,000-meter finals (2:34.13)
  • The 4x400 relay team consisting of senior John Gnibus, freshman Andrew Van De Mark, Conway, and junior Thomas O'Connell won the event by a second (3:38.51).
  • The 4x800 squad of freshman Stephen Joseph, Welch, junior Kyle Vandermark and Kumamoto had an impressive 10-second victory (8:11.29) over New Hampshire.
  • Senior TJ Duggan in the field events had a 4.40-meter mark in the pole vault which was good enough for the top slot.
