Twenty-five members of the Holy Cross football team earned 2021 Phil Steele All-Patriot League honors, the publication announced. Additionally, junior linebacker Jacob Dobbs was named to the All-America second team, while also being named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year by Phil Steele.

Named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, Dobbs finished the year with 137 tackles, including 75 solo tackles and 17.5 tackles for loss. The team captain additionally recorded 9.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries and three pass breakups. He ranked in the top 10 in FCS this season in solo tackles and total tackles, and paced a Holy Cross defense that led the nation in total defense, allowing just 254.5 yards per contest. Dobbs was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, and he additionally earned first team All-America honors from Stats Perform and second team All-America recognition from HERO Sports, the Associated Press and the American Football Coaches Association.
