Holy Cross Athletics Announces Updated Vaccination Requirements for Outdoor Events

WORCESTER, Mass. – Effective Saturday, Sept. 11, Holy Cross Athletics has updated its policies for attendees of outdoor athletics events and will require all guests to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, a negative PCR test administered within 72 hours of the event or a negative antigen test administered within 24 hours of the event prior to entering any on-campus venue. The indoor vaccination policy previously announced remains in effect.

Fans attending Saturday's football home opener against Merrimack College must present a valid form of photo ID and proof of vaccination or documentation of an appropriately dated negative COVID-19 test at one of five COVID-19 Prescreen Areas. Once screened, fans will receive non-transferable wristbands that will allow them into Fitton Field. Prescreening areas can be found at Gates A and D and inside Freshman Field, West Lot and the Premier Lot.

Fans attending other outdoor athletics events will be screened and wristbanded at the entry of each respective stadium or venue.

Please see below for more policy details:

  • Children under the age of 12 do not need to provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test for entry, but they will be required to wear a face covering while attending any indoor or outdoor Holy Cross event.
  • Attendees 12 years of age and older will be required to present proof of full vaccination confirming the visitor is at least two weeks past the final dose of any WHO-approved vaccine by presenting a CDC COVID-19 vaccination card (digital or physical) or by presenting a verified digital vaccine card from The Airside App or VaxYes. (Please note, visitors should enroll at least 24 hours prior to arrival on campus to ensure admission.)
  • For guests who are unvaccinated or who cannot provide proof of full vaccination, documentation of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the event or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours of the event will be required. A test result must be in the form of written medical documentation (physical or digital) and the documentation must include full name, test result, type of test, entity issuing the result and the specimen collection date.
  • Visitors experiencing symptoms are asked to stay home.
