Holy Cross football ranked 24th nationally in AFCA poll

The Holy Cross football team tied for 24th in the latest FCS national rankings, as announced by the American Football Coaches Association on Monday, Sept. 27.

The national ranking comes after the Crusaders (3-1) defeated then-No. 20 Monmouth on Saturday, Sept. 25, in a 45-15 victory. As a team, Holy Cross had 507 yards of total offense – its highest since 2019 – while also posting its largest margin of victory since 2018.

Holy Cross comes off back-to-back victories over reigning conference champions, also defeating 2019 Ivy League champion Yale on Sept. 18 by a score of 20-17.

The Crusaders reenter the national rankings after being voted 24th by Stats Perform on Sept. 6.

The Crusaders return to Worcester for their next three contests, beginning with a Homecoming matchup against Harvard on Saturday, Oct. 2. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at Fitton Field, and tickets start at just $10 when purchased in advance.
