WASHINGTON, D.C.— The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to the American Eagles, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman
Abbie Lane led the Crusaders (1-14, 0-4 PL) with 13 kills, while classmate
Sarah Stokes posted a season-high 12 assists. Junior
Halle Carter came close to a double-double with 18 assists and eight digs on the day.
American (7-7, 1-1 PL) was led by Zeynep Uzen who tallied a double-double with 14 kills and 16 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first set saw the score tie up seven times, before the Eagles took control with a five-point run to take a 20-15 lead. American went on to claim the first set, 25-20.
- After the second set once again got off to a back-and-forth start, American hit .519 to win, 25-17.
- A closely contested third set saw four lead changes and was back-and-forth throughout. The Eagles rallied back from being down 24-21, to take five-straight points and win 26-24.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Freshman Rian Millership posted a season-high three kills along with one block.
- Daval-Santos has now posted double-digit digs in 11 of the Crusaders' 14 matches this season.

- Holy Cross will remain on the road and travel to Army on Friday, Oct. 1 at 7:00 p.m.
