WEST POINT, N.Y.— The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Army West Point, 3-0, on Friday night at Gillis Field House.
Junior
Emma VanSeveren tied a career-high with three service aces to lead all Holy Cross (1-15, 0-5 PL) players. Freshman
Sarah Stokes tallied 11 assists, while
Skye Daval-Santos had 11 digs.
Army (10-4, 4-1) was led by Diana Etheridge who posted 34 assists, while Sayler Butters had 17 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Army took sets one and two by scores of 25-10 and 25-9, respectively.
- In set three, the Crusaders jumped out to a 4-0 lead and led as much as 9-4 in the early going. Army tied the score at 12 apiece before using a five-point run to eventually take the set, 25-18.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- VanSeveren now has 10 service aces on the season with her three tonight.
- Freshman Lauren Halverson has now recorded a block in all but two games this season.
UP NEXT:
- The Crusaders will take on Colgate on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.
