BOSTON – The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team fell to Boston University, 2-0, in an exhibition on Saturday, Sept. 25.
Senior
Carlie Magier totaled three shots on goal, while junior
Carly Beniek and sophomore
Millie Sirum each registered a pair of shots on goal. Rookie defenseman
Emilie Fortunato blocked four shots in the contest.
All three Holy Cross goalies saw action on Saturday, with senior
Sarah Street stopping all 21 shots on goal that she faced in the second period. Senior
Jada Brenon had 10 saves, while sophomore
Madison Beck stopped 13 shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Brenon and Street combined to stop 31 shots on goal through the first two periods to help preserve a scoreless tie.
- BU broke through first at 9:36 of the third period off a power-play goal from Julia Nearis.
- The Terriers tacked on another goal, this one from Liv Haag, just over a minute later, to extend their lead to 2-0.
