WORCESTER, Mass.— The Holy Cross volleyball team has earned the 2020-21 United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, as announced on Monday by the AVCA.
The award, which has been given out since the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a yearlong grade-point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. The award factors in the GPA of all players that played at least on set during the 2019 season.
As a team, the Crusaders averaged a 3.47 GPA during the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. Senior
Katie Kerins posted a 4.0 GPA during the spring semester.
This the second year in a row and third time in program history that the Crusaders have earned the award.
