New to compete with Whipsnakes LC of Premier Lacrosse League

Defender Sean New, a 2020 graduate of the Holy Cross men's lacrosse team, has made the 25-man roster for the Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League. 

During a standout 2019 season with the Crusaders, New helped Holy Cross rank eighth nationally in scoring defense, with an average of 9.86 goals against. As a team captain during the shortened 2020 campaign, New led the Crusaders defense to rank fourth nationally in caused turnovers per game (10.43). In his career, New recorded 64 ground balls and 38 caused turnovers, along with the two goals he scored as a junior.

Sean New was selected seventh overall in the 2020 PLL Draft by the Whipsnakes, becoming the first Crusader in program history to be drafted into the PLL. New is one of just 11 Patriot League players who are currently on PLL rosters. 

The Whipsnakes have won back-to-back PLL titles, and finished with a 6-0 record during the 2020 season. A full 2021 schedule for the Whipsnakes can be found here.
