Men’s lacrosse rounds out season with win over UMBC

METUCHEN, N.J. — The Holy Cross men's lacrosse defeated UMBC, 15-7, on Thursday afternoon at Brenner Family Field.
 
Holy Cross finishes their season at 4-11 with the win, while UMBC moves to 7-4 with the loss.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • UMBC got on the board first, but Holy Cross responded with six goals in just under four minutes to take a lead they would not relinquish.
  • UMBC cut the lead to 6-4 with three goals from the end of the first to the start of the second, but senior John Mitchell's two goals expanded the lead back to four.
  • Senior Michael Bonomo and sophomore Jude Lynch rounded out their four goal performances over the final two frames where Holy Cross outscored UMBC 6-2 to secure the win.
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • Junior Sean Miller recorded 11 saves in his first collegiate win, while sophomore Riley Stanton made two saves in relief.
  • Junior Julian Jenkins led both sides with four caused turnovers.
  • Freshman Owen Tunney dished out a career-high four assists in the contest.
