Junior running back Peter Oliver, junior defensive lineman Jason Modak and senior defensive back Grant Holloman of the Holy Cross football team have earned 2020-21 Academic All-District I honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America. The team is comprised of players from Division I schools in the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Oliver is now a two-time Academic All-District honoree, having earned a spot on the 2019-20 team. Also a two-time Academic All-Patriot League selection, Oliver started all four contests this spring, rushing for 226 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries. He additionally was selected to the Spring 2021 All-Patriot League second team. In his career, Oliver has rushed for 858 yards on 197 carries with seven touchdowns. He owns a 3.95 cumulative grade point average as a double major in chemistry and Spanish.

Modak becomes an Academic All-District selection for the first time. He started all four games this season at defensive tackle, totaling eight tackles, including four tackles for loss and a sack. During his career, he has 40 tackles, with 31 solo tackles and six tackles for loss. He is a two-time Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar, and owns a 3.63 cumulative GPA as an economics major.

Holloman earns a spot on the Academic All-District team for the first time in his career. A team captain during the 2021 spring season, Holloman appeared in all four games, totaling 14 tackles, including 12 solo tackles. He also added in a quarterback hurry and pass breakup, and was selected to the All-Patriot League second team. In his career, Holloman has recorded 91 total tackles, including 75 solo tackles. Holloman is a political science major, and has earned a 3.44 cumulative GPA.

By earning Academic All-District honors, Oliver, Modak and Holloman will now be on the ballot for Academic All-America honors. The Academic All-America team will be announced on July 12.
