WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior 
Jolie Creo scored a hat trick, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by Colgate 12-9 at Kuzniewski Field. The Crusaders fall to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the Patriot League with the loss, while the Raiders improve to 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the conference.
Colgate opened the game by jumping out to an early 4-1 lead after the first 10:49 of action. Holy Cross responded with a 4-0 run to pull in front, including a pair of goals by Creo. The Crusaders went on to take a 7-5 advantage at the break. 
The Raiders started the second half strong, scoring four straight goals to pull in front 9-7 with 18:18 left to play. Holy Cross came right back with goals by senior 
Shannon Dudeck and sophomore 
Christine Fabrizi to tie the game at 9-9 with 13:22 remaining. But the Crusaders would not score again, as Colgate scored three times down the stretch to pull out the win.
Holy Cross will return to action on Saturday, March 27, when it travels to Boston University for a 12:00 p.m. game.
