Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Women's hockey falls to #3/4 Northeastern

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team lost to No. 3/4 Northeastern 8-0 Friday night at the Hart Center.

Jada Brenon made 38 saves in goal, including an impressive glove save of Maureen Murphy who had what appeared to be a wide open net. She now sits at 2,005 career saves, just 18 behind second place in program history. Jennelle DiSanto '03 owns the top mark in Crusader history with 2,393 career saves.

A hat trick from Chloe Aurard lifted the nationally ranked Huskies to an early lead that they would hold on to.

The Crusaders were not without chances, especially when Sommer Ross was on the ice. Towards the end of the first period she beat Northeastern's Aerin Frankel, but was denied by the pipe. Then in the second, Millie Sirum hit her in the slot with a nice pass from behind the net, but a diving Frankel kept Ross and the Crusaders off the board.

The Huskies are undefeated in their last 12 games and have not allowed a goal in five straight.

UP NEXT:
Holy Cross will travel to Boston tomorrow to take on the Huskies again at 3:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on NESN.
