WORCESTER, Mass.— The Holy Cross men's hockey team dropped to Niagara, 3-1, on Friday night at Hart Center Rink.
Holy Cross (3-13-1, 2-6-1 AHA) got on the board first with sophomore Alec Cicero's tally. Cicero's goal came with just two minutes left in the first frame on the power play and was assisted by senior Matt Slick.
Niagara (3-8-2, 3-2-2) went on to score two power play goals in the second frame to take a 2-1 lead over the Crusaders. All three goals scored when a goal was in the net, came in 5-on-3 action. Niagara's final goal of the game was an empty-netter with under 30 seconds left to play to push the final score to 3-1.Â
Junior netminder Matt Radomsky finished with 27 saves, while the Purple Eagle's Chad Veltri had 23 saves. Sophomore Jack Robilotti led all players with four blocks.
