Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Crusaders fall at UNH in overtime

DURHAM, N.H.— The Holy Cross men's hockey team fell, 3-2, in overtime against the New Hampshire Wildcats on Saturday night at the Whittemore Center.

Holy Cross (3-12-1) and New Hampshire (7-7-1) traded goals back-and-forth, but ultimately the Wildcats scored an overtime tally with under a minute left to go to win the game.

Sophomore Lucas Thorne got the scoring started for both teams with a goal just 1:41 into the game, to give the Crusaders an early 1-0 lead. UNH tied the game around six minutes later and doubled its lead with a power-play goal midway through the second period.

Facing a 2-1 deficit in the third period, the Crusaders pulled junior goaltender Matt Radomsky in favor of adding on an extra attacker, the move paid off as junior Bobby Young tallied his first goal of the season to tie the game at 2-2 with just two minutes left to play. UNH went on to score in overtime to win. Radomsky made 24 saves, while New Hampshire's Mike Robinson had 20 saves on the night.

Seniors Matt Slick and Ryan Leibold each skated in their 100th career games in a Crusader uniform against the Wildcats.
