WORCESTER, Mass.— Five different goal scorers got on the board to lead the Holy Cross men's hockey team to a 5-1 victory over Brown on Friday afternoon at Hart Center Rink.
Holy Cross (3-11-1) scored four unanswered goals before Brown (1-6-0) tallied its lone goal of the day with just 13 seconds left in the second period. Sophomore Alec Cicero got the scoring started in the first period for the Crusaders just 1:34 into the game. Freshmen Matt Shatsky and John Gelatt assisted Cicero's goal. Junior Nick Hale extended his point streak to six games with his third goal of the season just over 15 minutes into the first period. Senior Anthony Vincent and sophomore Matt Guerra had the helpers.
In the second period, junior Grayson Constable then potted his team-leading sixth goal of the season on the power play to push the Crusader lead to 3-0. Junior Mike Higgins and Gelatt had the assists. Sophomore Lucas Thorne got on the board just over two minutes after Constable with assists from senior classmates Ryan Leibold and Matt Slick.
Brown's goal came as the second period expired to push the score to 4-1 still in the Crusaders favor. Sophomore Jack Ricketts closed out the scoring with an empty net goal for Holy Cross to bring the final score to 5-1.
Junior Matt Radomsky got his second win of the season in a 27-save effort. Senior Matt Slick led all players with four blocks.
