KINGSTON, R.I. – Freshman
Patrick Walsh had a pair of top five finishes to lead the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team to a fourth place finish in the Harold Anderson Invitational at the Tottell Aquatics Center. The Crusaders totaled 434 points on the weekend, while Binghamton finished first with 1,074.5 points.
Walsh placed third in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:08.89 and finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:52.58. Walsh broke the school record in the 1,650 free, while his 1,000-yard split time (9:44.68) broke the school record in the 1,000 free. Sophomore
Chris Clow also had a pair of top five finishes, coming in fifth in both the one-meter diving (187.30) and the three-meter diving (167.70). Other Crusaders to place in the top five included freshman
Rory Hess in the 200-yard butterfly (third, 1:52.70), sophomore
Troy Dalton in the three-meter diving (fourth, 181.75), senior
Michael Brennan in the 200-yard butterfly (fifth, 1:54.12), sophomore
Charlie Nascimben in the 200-yard breaststroke (fifth, 2:07.30) and the 800-yard freestyle relay team (fourth, 7:03.11). In addition, Nascimben broke the school record in the 100 breast with his time of 57.11, while placing seventh.
Holy Cross will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 4, when it plays host to Boston University at 1:00 p.m.
