CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team fell to Boston College, 4-2, on Friday, Nov. 19.
Junior center
Mary Edmonds had a goal and an assist to lead the Crusaders (2-12-0, 1-9-0 Hockey East), while sophomore right wing
Bryn Saarela also scored a goal. Sophomore left wing
Lilly Feeney blocked four shots for the Crusaders. Holy Cross recorded 39 shots on goal, their highest total in conference play this year, outshooting the Eagles (8-4-0, 6-3-0 Hockey East) by a 39-34 margin.
Kelly Browne had a pair of goals on seven shots on goal for BC, while goaltender Abigail Levy made 37 saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Eagles opened the scoring just 2:50 into the contest off a goal from Browne.
- Gaby Roy made it a 2-0 game at 2:16 of the second period.
- Saarela scored off a one-timer on a sharp pass from Edmonds at the 9:05 mark of the second period, cutting the Eagles' lead in half.
- Edmonds intercepted a BC pass and scored on a breakaway at 16:26 of the second period.
- BC broke the 2-2 tie at 6:32 of the third period, when Abby Newhook had an unassisted tally.
- The Eagles regained a two-goal lead with under three minutes to go in the third after Browne scored her second goal of the contest.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Freshman Emilie Fortunato, who assisted on Saarela's goal, extended her point streak to four games; she has five assists in that span.

- The Crusaders will resume game action on Dec. 3 and 4 with a home-and-home series against the University of Connecticut.
