WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore
Charlie Nascimben won three individual events to lead the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team to a 159-134 victory over Maine at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders improve to 1-3 on the year, while the Black Bears fall to 1-1 overall.
Nascimben won the 100-yard breaststroke (59.63), the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.64) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:59.77). Freshman
Patrick Walsh also had a strong day, taking first place in the 100-yard backstroke (53.98) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.24). Other first place finishers for Holy Cross were senior
Michael Brennan in the 100-yard butterfly (52.47), sophomore
Chris Clow in the one-meter diving (212.77), sophomore
Troy Dalton in the three-meter diving (199.05), freshman
Rory Hess in the 200-yard butterfly (1:56.24) and freshman
Luca Moscetti in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:17.40).
The Crusaders will return to action next weekend, when they take part in the Harold Anderson Invitational in Kingston, R.I., from Nov. 19-21.
