CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Freshman guard
Kyrell Luc scored a career-high 18 points, but the Holy Cross men's basketball team was defeated by Boston College 85-55 at Silvio O. Conte Forum. The Crusaders fall to 1-1 overall, while the Eagles improve to 2-0 on the season.
Holy Cross hit 46.2 percent of its field goal attempts and held a 30-29 rebounding advantage, but also committed 19 turnovers and made just 37.5 percent of its free throws. Boston College was able to connect on 59.6 percent of its shots from the floor and 70.0 percent of its attempts from the charity stripe.
The Eagles opened the game with a quick 13-2 run over the first 3:39 of action. Boston College was later up by 14 (37-23) with 5:47 left in the half, before using a 12-2 spurt to go in front by 24 (49-25). The Eagles eventually took a 49-27 advantage into the locker room. Boston College then opened the second half with a 15-2 run to go up by 35 (64-29). The Crusaders would get no closer than 29 points the rest of the way, as the Eagles went on to post a 30-point victory.

Malcolm Townsel finished the night with 15 points, while sophomore forward
Michael Rabinovich added 11 points and seven rebounds. Boston College was led by DeMarr Langford with 20 points and three assists.
Holy Cross returns to action on Monday, Nov. 15, when it travels to Quinnipiac for a 7:00 p.m. game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• The contest between the Crusaders and the Eagles was a regional round game of the Sunshine Slam. The Tournament will continue on Nov. 20 and 21 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
• Townsel made six of seven field goal attempts while setting a new career-high for scoring, in addition to reaching double figures for the first time in his Holy Cross career.
• Rabinovich recorded a new career-best for scoring, and also tied his career-high for rebounds.
