Women’s soccer falls to Loyola on Senior Day

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team was defeated by Loyola (Md.) 1-0 at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium. The Crusaders fall to 1-11-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the Patriot League, while the Greyhounds improve to 6-5-2 on the season and 3-1-1 in the conference.

The only goal of the day came in the 11th minute, when Loyola's Kaleigh Gallagher took a pass from Chloe Kuminkoski outside the penalty box in the right corner and sent a long shot which went just over the fingertips of Holy Cross freshman goalkeeper Olivia Dubin. Neither team was able to score the rest of the way, as the Greyhounds pulled out a one-goal victory.

Dubin made two saves on the afternoon, with Paige Sim recording three saves for Loyola.

The Greyhounds finished the game with a 13-8 advantage in shots, while the Crusaders held a 6-1 edge in corner kiks.

Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 13, when it travels to Boston University for a 7:00 p.m. game.
