BOSTON, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team was defeated by Boston University 3-0 at Nickerson Field. The Crusaders fall to 1-12-1 overall and 0-5-1 in the Patriot League, while the Terriers improve to 9-5-1 on the season and 5-1-0 in the conference.
Boston University opened the scoring in the 34th minute, when Sophia Woodland found Amy Thompson in the center of the box for a goal from 12 yards out. The Terriers increased their lead to 2-0 in the 52nd minute when Morgan Fagan headed in a cross from Abigail McNulty. Boston University then concluded the scoring in the 74th minute, as Marli Rajacich scored off a pass from Geovanna Pereira.
Freshman goalkeeper Olivai Dubin made five saves on the night, while Gretchen Bennett and Celia Braun combined for three saves for the Terriers.Â
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 16, when it travels to Lafayette for a 2:00 p.m. game.
