ANNAPOLIS, Md.— The Holy Cross volleyball team fell at Navy, 3-0, on Friday evening in Patriot League action.
Sanaea Simmons and
Mia Hofacker led all players with three blocks each. Additionally,
Halle Carter tied to lead all players with 20 assists and
Skye Daval-Santos led the way with 15 digs.
Gracyn Benck posted 10 kills for the Crusaders (1-17, 0-7 PL).
Navy's (7-8, 3-3 PL) Cami Hermann had 12 kills on the day, a match-high, while Averi Miller tied with Carter with 20 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first and second sets began in much the same way, a back-and-forth affair between the Crusaders and the Mids. Navy took the first set, 25-20, and then used two separate four-point runs to take the second set by the same score.
- Holy Cross pulled within one of Navy several times in the third, but the Midshipmen took set three, 25-16.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Carter posted double-digit assists again after not reaching that milestone in the previous two games.
- Daval-Santos' five assists are her second highest total this season.

- The Crusaders will return home to host Lehigh in their annual pride match on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.
