Crusaders can’t get past Bentley

WORCESTER, Mass.— Playing at home in front of fans for the first time in 600 days, the Holy Cross men's hockey team dropped a tight match to Atlantic Hockey foe Bentley on Thursday night at Hart Center Rink.

Holy Cross (0-4-1, 0-2-1) scored two goals in the first period, but Bentley (3-2-0, 1-0-0) went on to score four unanswered goals to take home the win.

Sophomore Matt Guerra lit the lamp first for the Crusaders on the power play, with assists from junior Nick Hale and sophomore Tyler Ghirardosi. Sophomore Lucas Thorne then found the back of the net, with a helper from senior Anthony Vincent.

Bentley scored twice in the first period, to knot the score at 2-2 and then Drew Bavaro scored the eventual game-winner on the power play in the second. The Falcons' final goal was an empty-netter that pushed the final score to 4-2.

The Crusaders outshot the Falcons, 26-22, with junior Matt Radomsky making 18 saves. Bentley's Nicholas Grabko made 24 saves.
