Holy Cross set for Bentley

WORCESTER, Mass.— The Holy Cross men's hockey team will return to Hart Center Rink in front of fans for the first time in 600 days when Bentley comes to town on Thursday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. The series will then move to Waltham for game two on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 4:05 p.m.

The Crusaders matchup at home against Bentley will broadcast live on NESN, and will be available on FloHockey for anyone outside of New England. The game on Saturday will be available on FloHockey.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (0-3-1, 0-1-1 AHA):
  • The Crusaders opened their Atlantic Hockey slate at Mercyhurst with a 4-4 tie on Friday, Oct. 15 and a 5-2 loss on Saturday, Oct. 16 The 4-4 tie gave the Crusaders their first Atlantic Hockey point of the season.
  • Senior Ryan Leibold leads the Crusaders with four points off one goal and three assists. On Friday against Mercyhurst, Leibold tied a career-high of three points.
  • Sophomore Tyler Ghirardosi has three points on the season, with two power-play goals and one assist. Ghirardosi's two power-play goals lead the team and is tied for the second-best mark in the conference.
  • The Crusaders own the top power play play in the conference and sixth-best in the country with a .364 power play percentage. In the 4-4 tie at Mercyhurst, Holy Cross scored three goals on the power play for the first time since the 2018-19 season. 
SCOUTING BENTLEY (2-2-0, 0-0-0 AHA):
  • The Falcons are coming off of a 6-2 victory over then-No. 6 Boston College. Goaltender Nicholas Grabko made 38 saves and Cole Kodsi scored twice in the victory.
  • Grabko is a two-time Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Week honoree and owns a conference-best .948 save percentage.
  • Kodsi leads the Falcons with five points off of two goals and three assists, while Dylan Pitera has a team-best four assists.
  • Bentley has yet to connect on the power-play with zero goals on seven opportunities.
LAST TIME THEY MET:
  • The two teams met three times during the shortened 2019-20 season, with Bentley taking the final matchup, 5-2 at home.
  • The Crusaders won the the previous two meetings, 4-3 in overtime and 2-1 in overtime.
  • Junior Alex Peterson tallied three points (two goals, one assist) in the three games against the Falcons last season. Leibold and junior Nick Hale also each posted two assists across all three contests.
