WORCESTER, Mass.— The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to the Navy Midshipmen, 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-19), on Saturday evening in Blaney Gymnasium.
Junior
Gracyn Benck and freshmen
Lauren Halverson and
Mia Hofacker led the Crusaders with six kills each. Senior
Skye Daval-Santos tallied 13 digs to lead all players, while junior
Halle Carter led all players with 22 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In set one, Navy used a six-point run early on to take a 8-2 lead. The Crusaders were unable to get closer than six points to the Mids, before Navy took set one, 25-16.
- Set two was more of a game of runs, with each side going on mini three-point bursts, before Navy took control of the set and won, 25-22.
- The Crusaders rallied from being down 6-2 in set three to take a 11-9 lead. The Mids then mounted a comeback and ultimately took the set, 25-19 to win the match.
