WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team will take on No. 8 Boston College in a home-and-home series this weekend. The Crusaders will travel to the Eagles on Friday, Jan. 15 for a 2 p.m. game, before hosting the eighth-ranked team in the country on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS:
  • The Crusaders are coming off a single game against Providence last weekend, where they hung tough with the then-No. 7/9 team in the country. The Friars struck first, but Holy Cross answered back with two first period goals by freshmen Lilly Feeney and Bryn Saarela to take the lead into the first break.
  • Providence tied the game in the second to go into the final frame even at two. The Friars would pull away in the third to eventually win 5-2, including an empty-net goal to cap the scoring.
  • Eleven games into the season, three freshmen sit atop the team's scoring leaders. Saarela (5-4-9), Millie Sirum (3-4-7), and Feeney (2-4-6) have paced the Crusaders to this point in the year. Junior Emma Lange is fourth on the team with a 1-4-5 line to lead all defensemen.
  • Junior goalie Jada Brenon is one win away from tying her career high that she set last season as a sophomore. She has posted a .905 save percentage and a 3.19 goals against average this season, the latter of the two numbers being a career best.
SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE:
  • The Eagles are 7-3-0 on the year and are coming off a sweep of Merrimack last weekend. They took down the Warriors by scores of 5-3 and 3-1.
  • Savannah Norcross leads the team with 12 points from five goals and seven assists. Kelly Browne is right behind her with 11 points.
  • BC has split time in goal between three juniors, Maddy McArthur, Kelly Pickreign, and Abigail Levy. McArthur has gotten the most work, having seen action in five games and posting a .914 save percentage and a 2.66 goals against average. Whomever the Crusaders face this weekend will be a quality netminder, as both Pickreign and Levy's numbers have actually been better than McArthur's at this point in the year.
  • The Eagles are scoring of 14.3% of their power plays and killing 85.7% of their penalties faced.
