WORCESTER, Mass. – A 13-goal first half proved to be the deciding factor in a commanding 16-1 win for Holy Cross women's lacrosse over Central Connecticut on Feb. 20.
Jolie Creo and
Bryn Carroll each picked up their second hat tricks of the season, while
Grace Flink and
Juliana Kubler combined for nine saves to keep the Blue Devils to just one goal.
Bryn Carroll,
Jolie Creo, and
Haley Walker scored for the Crusaders within the first seven minutes of the game to take an early 3-0 lead. Central Connecticut responded for the only time at 22:50 to cut down the Holy Cross lead, 3-1.
At 20:27, the Holy Cross offense took over to score 10 goals to close out the half. Creo picked up two goals and one assist in that time, while
Kara McDuffee added one goal and two assists. Carroll and
Izzy Grant also picked up two goals in the run.
At the half,
Grace Flink made seven saves to keep the Blue Devils to just one goal.
In the second half,
Julia Bonnist had a hand in each of the Crusaders' goals. She tallied her first collegiate goal with the help of
Maggie Moriarty. With her career-first,
Sara McKenna posted Holy Cross' 15
th goal and Bonnist capped off the scoring with 2:24 to play, 16-1.
Juliana Kubler played in goal in the second half and made two saves to prevent Central Connecticut from scoring in the second frame.

- Kara McDuffee marked a new career-high with four assists and one goal for five points.
