Men's hockey to face AIC in road series

The Crusaders will play their final road series of the regular season on Feb. 20 and 22 at AIC in Springfield. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the MassMutual Center.
 
Talking Points
• Holy Cross split with Robert Morris in a weekend series in their last outing. In the first game the Crusaders won, 5-3, and fell in the second game, 4-2.
• Thirteen Crusaders picked up at least one point on the weekend, while four had multi-point weekends. Ryan Leibold led the Crusaders with three points on Feb. 14 from two goals and one assist.
Charlie Barrow and Patrick O'Leary became the 20th and 21st Crusaders to score a goal in the 2019-20 season. Barrow added an assist on the weekend for his first two-point series of the season.
• In the series, Matt Radomsky made 65 saves.
• In 2020, Holy Cross has picked up the second most league points (23), with a 7-2-1-1 record.
• With two assists on the weekend, Logan Ferguson has broken the 20-point mark for the first time in his career. Ferguson has recorded six goals and a team-high 15 assists.
• On Feb. 14, Conner Jean netted his team-leading fifth power play goal of the season.
Jack Surowiec leads the team in blocked shots, with 40.
• In Holy Cross' last 10 games, Kevin Darrar has averaged one point per game. The senior forward has picked up six goals and four assists in that time.
 
Balanced Scoring
• Holy Cross has seen 21 players record a goal and 23 of 25 skaters have picked up at least two points on the season.
Conner Jean leads the team in scoring at 12 and accounts for 15% of the team's scoring. Neil Robinson and Kevin Darrar follow with nine goals.
• Ten Crusaders have hit the double-digit mark in points on the season.
 
Playoff Picture
• Since the start of 2020, Holy Cross has added 23 league points.
• Holy Cross sits in ninth place with 32 points. The Crusaders are just one point behind Air Force and Niagara and three points behind sixth place Bentley.
• The Crusaders have two series remaining in the regular season against first place AIC and Bentley. 
 
Against the League
• With five power play goals, Conner Jean ranks seventh in Atlantic Hockey.
Alex Peterson has scored 14 points and ranks seventh in freshman scoring.
• The team ranks fourth in scoring, averaging 2.63 goals per game.
 
The Best Year Yet
• Eleven Crusaders have picked up season-highs in the 2019-20 season.
 
Extra Point Games
• In three Atlantic Hockey ties, the Crusaders have come away with the extra point twice. Both occasions happened in the shootout thanks to a goal from Jake Pappalardo.
• The Crusaders have given up the extra point just once, on Dec. 7 at Air Force.
 
Scouting AIC
• The Yellow Jackets host the Crusaders currently riding a nine-game winning streak. Most recently, AIC topped Canisius twice.
• Senior forward Blake Christensen leads the team in points with 10 goals and 16 assists.
• Hugo Reinhardt has picked up a team-high seven power play goals.
• Stefan Durante played the last two games in net for AIC and owns a .920 save percentage and 2.32 goals against average in 15 games played.
 
All-time against the Yellow Jackets
• Holy Cross owns the all-time series, 55-29-12.
• AIC took all four games from the 2018-19 season, each game decided by just one or two goals.
