Moore leads women's track and field at Beantown Challenge

BOSTON – The Holy Cross women's track and field team opened 2020 at the Beantown Challenge, hosted by Harvard, on Saturday, Jan. 11.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

Junior Christa Jay Moore won the pole vault, matching her indoor best and school record of 3.95 meters for an ECAC-qualifying mark. Freshman Annie Lineberger took sixth in the vault, clearing 3.45 meters.
Sophomore Jordyn Shubrick was fifth in the weight throw with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 16.43 meters.
Senior Caroline Frey finished fourth in the 500 meters, running a New England-qualifying time of 1:17.32.
Senior Jenna Gasparrini was fifth in the 3,000 meters, finishing in a New England-qualifying time of 10:13.21.
Junior Marina MacKinnon (3:00.28), senior Allison McArdle (3:01.11) and sophomore Grace Hoelscher (3:01.51) finished in seventh through ninth place in the 1,000 meter run, all New England-qualifying times.
Junior Abbie Mokwuah was ninth in the shot put with a throw of 13.04 meters, a New England-qualifying mark.
Junior Sydney McDonald was sixth in the high jump, clearing 1.61 meters.
Freshman Cymeria Robshaw placed sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.25 meters.
Senior Allie Smiley (5.46 meters) and Robshaw (5.44 meters) finished 10^th and 11^th in the long jump, respectively.

The Crusaders return to action on Jan. 18 at the University of New Hampshire.
