JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Holy Cross softball team lost to the University of North Florida, 3-1, Tuesday evening. The Crusaders fall to 1-5 on the year as the Ospreys improve to 8-6.

Alexandra Held and Kelly Nelson each went three innings in the circle. Held gave up two earned runs and struck out three, while Nelson gave up zero and struck out four. Alyssa Gutierrez went 2-for-3, Bella Jankowski went 1-for-2 with an RBI, and Jackie Brewster scored the Crusaders' lone run.

After falling in a 3-0 hole, the Crusaders answered in the fourth when Brewster scored on a Jankowski single. And while Nelson quieted the Osprey offense from there on out, the Crusaders weren't able to do any more damage.

First Inning:

• The Ospreys loaded the bases, struck out twice, and then scored on an error.
• Bailey Chavez recorded the third out of the inning with a nice put out from right field.

Third:

• North Florida added two more in the third by stringing together four hits in the inning.

Fourth:

• Brewster was hit by a pitch to start the inning.
• Erin Bengston moved her over on a sac bunt.
• Jankowski picked up her second RBI of the year when she singled to left and drove Brewster in.
• Nelson came in to pitch and gave up a single to start the inning, but then sat the next three Ospreys down.

Fifth:

• Nelson struck out the side in her second inning of work, two looking, one swinging.
