Softball Pushes Boston to the Brink, but Falls in Extras

BOSTON – The Holy Cross softball team lost to Boston University, 2-0, in eight innings Sunday morning.

Kelly Nelson pitched 7+ innings allowing eight hits, two runs, no walks and striking out six. Alyssa Gutierrez went 1-for-2 with a triple and Sydney Behrens and Hannah Horton were both 1-for-3. Five Crusaders reached base after taking ball four and Erin Bengston caught a runner stealing second.

Holy Cross had chances against a talented Terrier team, but were never able to push a run across despite having a runner on third three times.
