BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team lost to Vermont 4-1, Saturday afternoon at the Gutterson Fieldhouse.
The Catamounts quickly got out in front, scoring in just the second minute of the game. They followed it up with two more in the period. The Crusaders got one back halfway through the second frame when Rachel Moore picked the pocket of a Vermont defender behind the goal, brought it out to Melissa Black's left, and backhanded it through her five-hole.
Despite an 8-7 shot advantage in the final period, the Crusaders were not able to light the lamp again.
NOTES & NUMBERS:
- The tally gives Moore seven goals and 14 points on the year, both team highs.
