WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's tennis team fell to Babson, 9-0, Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Crusaders to 4-4 on the year and brings Babson to 1-1. The match was the first of the new semester for both teams.
Allison Reiling, Maddie DeNucci, Morgan McGuire, Jennifer Kary, Caroline Kam, and Clarisa Herrera competed in singles competition, No. 1 through No. 6 respectively. Both sets in Herrera's match went down to the wire as she dropped the first 7-6 with a 7-5 tiebreaker, and the second at 7-5.
Reiling and Sophia Papa teamed up for No. 1 doubles, Kary and DeNucci at No. 2, and McGuire and Kam at No. 3.
The Crusaders are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 23 when they take on Union.
