Men’s hockey falls to Sacred Heart, 4-2

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's hockey team fell to Sacred Heart, 4-2, at the Hart Center on Nov. 8. After falling behind, 4-0, the Crusaders battled back and scored two goals but their comeback fell short. Bobby Young and Neil Robinson netted goals for the Crusaders.

The Pioneers controlled the first period, getting out to a lead before the midpoint. Sacred Heart added a second goal later in the period to hold a 2-0 lead through the first 20 minutes. The Pioneers held the shot advantage, 13-8.

The second period saw more offensive pressure from the Crusaders but Pioneer netminder Josh Benson turned aside all six shots the Crusaders put on net. A late power play goal from Sacred Heart pushed the score to 3-0.

The Crusaders held a 15-3 shot advantage in the third period but Sacred Heart scored once more to make the game 4-0 before Holy Cross was able to find the back of the net. The Crusader scored two goals in two minutes to close the differential to 4-2. Playing nearly one minute and a half with an extra skater, the Crusaders were unable to even the score line.
