WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's hockey team fell to Army West Point, 3-1, on Nov. 16 at the Hart Center.
Logan Ferguson scored the lone Crusader goal while
Erik Gordon made 23 saves.
The first period saw the majority of scoring as Army tallied the first just over three minutes into the game. Not long after that, the Crusaders evened things up, 1-1. The Black Knights would go ahead a final time around the midway point of the first, 2-1.
The second period had another early West Point goal, scoring less than two minutes into the frame to push the game to 3-1. The Crusaders held an 8-6 shot advantage in the frame despite killing off five minutes of penalty time.
The third period again had the Crusaders leading in the shots column, 9-6, but they could not convert. Gordon made six saves and Holy Cross skated nearly two minutes six-on-five looking for a chance to equalize. The game ended with Army leading, 3-1.
