Women's soccer falls for first time in 11 games at Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team lost to Lehigh, 1-0, Saturday afternoon, snapping its 10-game unbeaten streak. The Crusaders fall to 3-3-7 and 1-1-4 in Patriot League action as the Mountain Hawk improve to 5-6-4 and 3-3-0.

Lehigh got on the board early and held on for the rest of the game. Maggie Wadsworth let one rip from outside the 18 and was able to loft it into the top right corner of the net in just the sixth minute of game action.

The Crusaders wouldn't go down without a fight as they registered 10 shots on the day, including four in the final ten minutes. Bridgette Dwyer led the way with two shots on goal for Holy Cross. Lexi Ansaldi, Carly Flahive, and Jenna Barnes all had one apiece. Sophia Lettieri made three saves.

The Crusaders will travel to Boston University next Wednesday, Oct. 23, for a 7 p.m. contest.
