WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team travels to Canton, N.Y. to take on St. Lawrence University this Saturday, Oct. 19, and Sunday, Oct. 20. Both games will be played at SUNY Canton.
Talking Points
• So far on the young season,
Rachel Moore leads the team with three points from one goal and two assists.
Kailey Langefels and
Mary Edmonds have tallied the team's two power play goals.
• The Crusaders ended last season with a 4.27 goals against average. To start this year, they have improved upon that by more than a whole goal, allowing 3.20 per game.
• Holy Cross has gotten solid goaltender play to start the year.
Julia Pelletier leads the team with a .945 save percentage and
Jada Brenon has posted a .907, both above their career averages.
Scouting the Saints
• St. Lawrence is currently 1-3-2 on the year with the lone win and one of the ties coming against New Hampshire. The Saints also tied once and lost to Vermont and lost twice to Ohio State.
• The Saints have been led by freshman Anna Segedi's 11 points from six goals and five assists. Kayla Vespa and Shailynn Snow are tied for the team lead with six assists. Rachel Teslak leads the team with two power play goals.
• Three goalies have split time between the pipes for the Saints, with freshman Lucy Morgan posting the best stats with a .936 save percentage and a 2.02 goals against average. Freshman Caitlin Whitehead has earned the team's only win.
Last Time Out
• The Crusaders took on Connecticut last Saturday at the Hart Center and fell, 2-0.
• Brenon made 35 saves in goal. It was the third time in four starts this season that she has stopped at least 35 shots.
