One of the most storied rivalries in the history of New England football will renewed this Saturday, Sept. 8, when Holy Cross travels to Boston College for a 1:00 p.m. game. The game between the Crusaders and the Eagles will be televised live by ACC Network Extra, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Saturday's game will be the 83rd all-time meeting between the teams, with Boston College leading the series 47-32-3. The 82 all-time games played entering this week are the most for either Holy Cross or Boston College against any single opponent. These old rivals have not met on the gridiron since the 1986 season, when the Eagles won 56-26 in Worcester.

Holy Cross stands 0-1 so far this year, after being edged by Colgate 24-17 in its season opener. After trailing 24-0 at halftime, the Crusaders rallied with 17 unanswered points but were unable to complete the comeback.

Junior running back Domenic Cozier led the Holy Cross offense with 108 yards from scrimmage and a pair of touchdowns. Cozier carried the ball 12 times for 54 yards and a score, while catching five passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. Junior running back Miles Alexander had a team-high 95 rushing yards on 17 carries, while junior quarterback Emmett Clifford hit on 14 of 23 passes for 113 yards and a score in his first career start.

On the defensive side of the ball, senior linebacker Ryan Brady totaled a team-high 14 tackles with two quarterback sacks and four tackles for loss. Sophomore defensive back Joe Lang added a career-high eight tackles and one tackle for loss, while senior defensive back Corey Stefanik finished with five tackles, a quarterback sack and a fumble recovery.

Boston College currently stands 1-0 overall this season, after defeating Massachusetts 55-21 last Saturday. Sophomore quarterback Anthony Brown led the Eagle offense by hitting on 15 of 21 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore tailback A.J. Dillon rushed 20 times for 98 yards, while sophomore wide receiver Kobay White caught three passes for 86 yards and two scores. Defensively, senior linebacker Connor Strachan posted a team-best eight tackles with one tackle for loss. Senior defensive lineman Ray Smith added five tackles and an interception, and senior defensive back Lukas Denis tallied three tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception which he returned for a touchdown. Head coach Steve Addazio is in his sixth season leading the Eagles, with an overall record of 32-33. Addazio's career mark stands at 45-44, including two years as the head coach at Temple.

After the contest at Boston College, Holy Cross will return to Worcester to play host to Yale in its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 1:05 p.m.
