WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's tennis team lost to Assumption College, 5-2, Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman Sophia Papa won her No. 2 singles match by a score of 6-3, 2-6, 6-0.
• Freshman Maddie DeNucci won at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 4-6, (10-4).
• Seniors Allison Reiling, Morgan McGuire, and Jen Kary dropped their respective matches, Reiling at No. 1 singles, McGuire at No. 5 and Kary at No. 6.
• Assumption would claim one team points for sweeping the doubles competitions. The Crusaders competed in teams of Reiling and Martin, Papa and McGuire, and Kary and DeNucci.
