DELAND, Fla. - The Holy Cross softball team was edged by the Stetson Hatters in a double header on March 7. In the first game, the Crusaders lost 3-4 to the Hatters with junior Taylor Wahler, seniors Mandy McCarthy and Taylor Moss all recording one RBI. In the second game, Holy Cross lost by one run, 4-5, with junior Jackie Brewster leading the Crusaders with three RBIs and one hit.

Second Inning Highlights:
- The Crusaders started off scoring in the second inning.
- Wahler doubled to left field and freshman Alyssa Gutierrez was able to score.
Sixth Inning Hightlights:
- In the sixth inning, McCarthy singled to center field, but after a throw error by the Hatters, McCarthy advanced to second, Wahler advanced to third and Brewster scored.
- With a sacrifice fly, Moss sent Wahler home, McCarthy to third and recorded an RBI.

Fifth Inning Highlights:
- The Crusaders scored all four runs in the fifth inning.
- Gutierrez scored off of an RBI by senior Gabby Muniz.
- Brewster stepped to the plate and notched three RBIs on a triple to center field sending junior Alexandra Held, Muniz and freshman Hannah Horton home.
- The Hatters tied the game after the bottom of the fifth inning, 4-4, and would eventually get one run in the seventh to take the win.
