WORCESTER, Mass. - The women's hockey team lost to Saint Anselm, 3-2, on Friday, Feb. 16. The six seniors were honored in a ceremony before the puck drop.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
1-0 HC (1st, 8:09, EV): Freshman Katie MacCuaig scored her 14th goal of the season from senior Emily Lissner and sophomore Victoria Young.
1-1 STA (1st, 13:07, EV): The Hawks answered back with a goal from Amanda Conger with seven minutes left in the first period.
1-2 STA (1st, 14:59, PP): Haley Marshall scored a power play goal to give the Hawks the 2-1 lead.
1-3 STA (2nd, 16:54, EV): Ashley Moran scored the eventual game-winner for the Hawks.
2-3 HC (3rd, 15:53, PP): Junior Tori Messina hit a slapshot through traffic at the goal to bring the Crusaders back within one goal.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- MacCuaig scored her 14th goal of the season and is tied for first on the team.
- Messina recorded her sixth power play goal of the season.
- Senior Tessie Salatas had 28 saves.
- The Hawks outshot the Crusaders 31-29.
- Holy Cross won 48% of the faceoffs.
