Box Score

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team fell to No. 5 Northeastern, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Matthews Arena in Boston.

After upsetting the fifth ranked Huskies, 5-3, on Friday night in the Crusaders' first ever Hockey East win, the squad wasn't able to come up with a repeat performance. Jada Brenon made 34 saves and Carlie Magier led Holy Cross with five shots.

The Crusaders were able to generate some chances, including one where the puck actually made its way into the goal after a scrum in front of the net, but it was called off.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

1-0 NU (1st, 6:31, EV): Northeastern's Veronika Pettey gathered a loose puck and put the Huskies up early.
2-0 NU (2nd, 18:53, PP): The Huskies finally broke through on the power play against the Crusaders. Up to this point over this weekend's two games, Holy Cross had shut out its opposition's man-up opportunities, killing four penalties.
3-0 NU (3rd, 12:56, EV): Northeastern added one more to finish up the scoring.

UP NEXT:

The Crusaders wrap up the first half of their schedule with their fourth ranked opponent in as many games, No. 8 Providence, next Friday, Dec. 7 at 6:00 p.m. The squad will then be off until Jan. 4 at UConn.
